FOTD: Snowflake Fantasy Makeup (Blogmas 2015)
If I look back at my older looks, I actually have many looks created with blue eyeshadows. Blue is one of my favourite colours and I definitely like to play with different shades of blue on my face. It's December, which means the winter will officially start soon, and although there still isn't snowing, I wanted to create a makeup look on this theme. Despite me not being a fan of snow, I really like to draw snowflakes on nails, and winter is such an amazing inspiration for nails and makeup. It offers new and creative ideas all the time. If you haven't saw my previous makeup looks on wintery theme, check them out here: Snow Queen , Ice Queen 1, Ice Queen 2. This time I decided to variegate my makeup with snowflakes.
I have a feeling that a cut crease look works the best when you're creating something unwearable. It's definitely one of my favourite techniques to use. Above the crease I used dark blue matte shade, which I also used to fill my eyebrows. On this blue eyeshadow I draw few small snowflakes and added few dots. All over the lid I applied matte white eyeshadow, and on lower lash line I used bright blue shade. Above the dark blue in inner corner I applied bright blue shade, which I connected with eyebrow, and between both colours I made a line with white creamy eyeshadow. On waterline I used white pencil, while I applied black eyeliner and false lashes with silver studs on upper lid. On lower lash line I also made a thin white line, but unfortunately it's not that visible on photo, because the blue is popping out.
First I wanted to draw a big snowflake on only one side of my face, but when I was done I felt like something is missing, so I added few smaller snowflakes on other side of my face as well. Before I draw snowflakes I applied blue eyeshadow on my temples and on my cheeks. On the edges I softened the blue with white shimmery eyeshadow. On lips I created a gradient effect, that goes from dark blue in outer corners of my lips to light blue and white in the middle of my lips.
Now that I'm looking at photos, I see that there are few things I would change or do better, but overall I'm quite satisfied with this look.
