Review and Swatches: Bourjois Sweet Kiss Lipglosses

Bourjoisrecently released Sweet Kiss lipglosses and when these came by mail, the month of testing lipglosses started for me. I’m not the biggest fan of lipglosses, I much prefer lipsticks, especially those with matte finish, but there are qualities I appreciate by lipglosses – non stickiness and hydration. I usually wear them when I don’t wear makeup, because they hydrate my lips or I sometimes also wear them applied over lipstick to achieve higher shine (if I’m in the mood for it).

In Sweet Kiss collection there are 6 new shades that have non-sticky and light formula, are hydrating (they even promise hydration for 10 hours, but I’d say this is exaggeration), nourishing and shiny. The secret ingredient of these glosses is plant “Crambe Abyssinia” – its oil makes sure that glosses are shiny and transparent.

Lipglosses come in a nice fancy plastic packaging in the colour of each shade. These have a brush applicator, which isn’t my favourite, because by my experience a nice and even application of lipgloss with a brush is harder than with doe foot applicator. The same experience I had here, because on edges of my lips I applied too much product, which I had to blend with fingers or with completely clean brush applicator. Otherwise lipglosses glide nicely on lips and they feel so light, like I wouldn’t wear anything. They are moisturizing, but not for long. I tried shades 03 As De Pink (a very light pink nude shade) and 06 Carton Rouge (dark red shade). Both disappeared from my lips in less than two hours and also moisturizing feeling didn’t last longer. Of course these are not food and drink proof lipglosses (a bit fancier saying that they don’t survive eating and drinking :D). These are sheer glosses, but they give nice colour to the lips. They are shiny, but again not as glossy on lips as Catrice Fluid Lipsticks(which are actually glosses). I especially like to use As De Pink on my lips when I’m not wearing makeup, because it’s like my lips but better shade and I can use it instead of  a lipbalm.

Bourjois Sweet Kiss lipglosses contain 5,7 ml and cost around 12 €, it depends where you buy them. They are available at Müller, DM and some drugstores Tuš. These are actually quite good glosses – they are shiny, moisturizing, non-sticky, feel light on lips, but they don’t hydrate lips for 10 hours, so don’t expect that. However, despite all positive qualities I’m not sure these are worth 12 €. At least not to me. If you’re a fan of lipglosses and you’re willing to pay so much money you’re probably going to love these, but I personally would probably choose cheaper glosses in the store (for example Essence or Catrice). Also, I’m a bigger fan of Bourjois La Laque collection, just because I prefer product with stronger colour payoff and doe foot applicator. I also find La Laque glosses more hydrating than Sweet Kiss glosses.

Have you tried glosses from Sweet Kiss collection? How do you like them? Thank you for reading!
